Tracey lives in North Herts with her husband and two children. Always being interested in yoga, tracey became a regular yoga practitioner with the Sivandanda centre in 1996. Attending Pregnancy yoga classes during the pregnancy of her second baby in 1999, found the classes so beneficial she decided to train to teach. Tracey teaches prenatal yoga at the Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living and in the village of ashwell. She believes passionately in supporting women through pregnancy, labour and birth and on into the first few months of becoming a mother.
‘When my daughter was born, I had complications and was determined to avoid them for the birth of my second child. I was recommended a pregnancy yoga class with a wonderful teacher, a founder member of ‘YogaBirth’, Yvonne Moore. Yvonne helped created the concept of an ‘Active Birth’ with the amazing Janet Balaskas and Lolly Stirk in the mid 70’s. They helped to transform childbirth from ‘a baby medically delivered’ to the power of ‘a woman actively birthing her baby’.
‘I was lucky to join and train with this incredible group of women who form ‘Yogabirth’. A professional group dedicated to supporting women during the childbearing years. We constantly update our information at regular study weekends and days throughout the year’.
‘I have gained so much pleasure in meeting women who join my classes and seeing their confidence grow’. Thank you to all the women, (and babies!) who have attended my classes, and make this work so interesting and rewarding’.
